I just ordered what will probably be my last two pairs of Allbirds shoes, after the company announced yesterday that it was throwing its lot in with AI. Economics writer Kyla Scanlon observed that this is "a good example of why [the market increases] shouldn't be happening today," and I can't disagree with her.
Banging away with Copilot and Obsidian
My boss gave me a mandate Monday to become proficient in some of the new tools he wants more of us to use, so I spend the afternoon doing exactly that. I wrote two new skills for interacting with Obsidian, refining them, and saying "whoa, that's cool!" out loud a few times. Right now my Obsidian vault has under 100 files, though; I'm interested to see what happens when it gets bigger.

Cassie had her semi-annual vet check-up today. She's in perfect health, with a full range of motion in her joints (no arthritis yet), and a limitless appetite for treats.

Monday afternoon backlog
I asked my boss a question over Teams just after 2:30 this afternoon and he jumped on a quick call with me to answer. For context, he's outside Birmingham, so it was 8:30 pm for him. The topic? Getting Claude Code to work with Obsidian to build a personal wiki that your LLM can answer questions about. I know how I'll be spending some of my work hours this week: learning as much as I can about this stuff.
