Cassie and I spent 8 hours outside yesterday, and I had just enough time to grab a kip and a shower between Oktoberfestaversary and dinner. I snapped this on Saturday night, which tells you a little about yesterday's weather:

Sunset 10 October 2026

Two more things of note: first, mighty Casey has struck out. The Cleveland Guardians beat the Chicago White Sox 2-0 in Cleveland on Saturday, so the Sox are done for the year. Dang.

Second, there is a very real possibility that Chicago will hit a record temperature today. The previous record was 28.7°C (84°F), and today's forecast is 29.3°C. Tomorrow will be nearly as warm before a cold front comes through overnight, dropping temperatures to an overnight low of 4°C (39°F) on Friday. (Which means my apartment will be a toasty 25°C until it's below freezing outside. But that's a rant for a different post.)
