I pushed out two software releases this afternoon, one big and one small. It seemed fitting to do both on the last day of summer.

We've had an unusually normal August so far, with not a single day above 32°C all month in Chicago. Oddly, Wednesday might hit 33°C, despite being, you know, the second day of Autumn and all. But that's also pretty normal around here; we really don't get our first blast of autumn cool until the third week of September most years.

I've just committed and pushed the last changes for a major new release of Weather Now, which I will push to Production tomorrow morning, assuming everything appears stable this afternoon. I've also updated the functions app in the Dev/Test environment for the first time since last November. Given the changes to the API, I definitely want to make sure the weather retrieval functions work properly before pushing out the production bits.

My Brews Buddy and I once again trekked up to Northbrook yesterday to get Barnaby's pizza. We walked 21.98 km in 3:26:37, almost exactly the same distance as last year, but 4 minutes slower due to the higher temperature (20°C last November vs. 26°C yesterday).

We got lucky last night with clear skies and cool temperatures, giving us a great view of the lunar eclipse:

We only have 68 days until the November 3rd election, which sadly is more than enough time for the OAFPOTUS to smash everything he can't have, just like any other abusive partner. Even though we have less than 10 weeks until the election, we still have 130 days until the 120th Congress convenes January 3rd, so we should all brace ourselves for a rocky Christmas season. Fun times, fun times.

Cassie and I went to Spiteful on Sunday, which got her 10 km of walks and me the joy of reading half a novel. She also got lots of pats, scritches, treats, pizza crust, and sun. But she did not want to share with the big floof that walked by:

Some of my friends and I went to the White Sox game last night, which the Sox won 11-7:
